Robyn Dockter

June 18, 1942 — October 19, 2022

Robyn Rose (Bucy) Dockter was born on June 18, 1942 to John and Laverne (Pew) Bucy in Worthington, Minnesota. A short time later she and her family moved to a farm northwest of Milbank, South Dakota. At the age of eight, she and her family moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where Robyn continued her education. She would later complete her GED and would complete her Associate’s Degree. She worked at Munsingwear Sewing and then as a secretary at Traveler’s Agency in Minneapolis. On April 3, 1976 Robyn was united in marriage to Loren Dockter at Trinity Lutheran Church in Corona. The couple made their home in Milbank initially. In the following years, they moved to numerous places throughout the United States including, Rapid City, South Dakota, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Denver, Colorado, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. For many of these years, Loren found work in carpentry. Robyn worked various jobs during her career, including Dakota Granite in Milbank, where she was the first woman ever to work in the plant, and also worked as a secretary at Arco Oil in Denver. While working for a packaging company in Rapid City in 1991, Robyn was injured, preventing her from continuing her work. In June of 2009, the couple found their way to Pipestone, Minnesota to live closer to her daughter. In 2010, Robyn suffered a stroke. In May 2018, Robyn became a resident of Good Samaritan Communities in Pipestone.

Robyn was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pipestone. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, dancing, and doing ceramics and macrame.

She is survived by her husband, Loren; daughter, Renee (David) Moshoures of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one granddaughter that Robyn and Loren adopted, Jessica Dockter of Myrtle Beach; six grandchildren; four siblings, Regina Blum of Hutchinson, Minnesota, Bonita Loewe of Walker, Minnesota, Barbara (Charlie Herbt) Bucy of Duarte, California and Tim Bucy of Aberdeen, South Dakota.
