ROSETTA MAE WALDRON was born on December 15, 1937 to Melvin and Charolette (Bonham) Nelson in Missouri Valley, Iowa, where she was raised and attended school at the Iowana one room school house. She received her 8th grade education and then attended high school, and graduated in 1951. On December 29, 1955, she was united in marriage to Paul Waldron at the Methodist Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa. After their marriage, she was a homemaker and began their family. Rosetta started working at the McClelland County Home after she had their 4 children. She worked there for a few years. When the ownership switched, she discontinued her employment. In June of 1974, she began her longtime employment at the Northcrest nursing home in Council Bluffs. She worked there 24 years before leaving and moving to Minnesota. In January 1998, she and Paul and their daughter, Cheryl moved to Woodstock, Minnesota and she worked at Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone, Minnesota. She retired in 2003. On April 5, 2004, she was preceded in death by her husband. Following his death, Rosetta and Cheryl continued to reside at their home. Rosetta died at her home on Monday, March 30, 2020 at the age of 82 years, three months and 15 days.

Rosetta enjoyed putting puzzles together, watching game shows and fishing. She was a vivacious animal lover that enjoyed spending time with her cats and dogs and also enjoyed watching birds. Rosetta was a caring woman that appreciated the time that she could care for the elderly. Her family will always remember her saying “Yip, yip”.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Paul Waldron and his wife, Cheryl of Persia, Iowa, Tim Waldron and his significant other, Pam of Woodbine, Iowa, Cheryl Waldron of Woodstock, Minnesota and David Waldron and his wife, Jean of Lake Wilson, Minnesota; eight grandchildren, Tim; Paul, Michael and Melissa; Heather, Phillip, Sarah and Jennifer; 20 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Elder “Buck” Nelson of Dunlap, Iowa; and one sister, Charolette Wilcoxen of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Rosetta was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her parents, Melvin and Charolette; one sister, Margret Hall; and two brothers, Donald Nelson and Marvin Nelson.
