Roszella Hunter

Roszella Grace Hunter was born on September 28, 1934 to Oren and Rose (Wessels) Anderson in Osceola County in Iowa. The Anderson family moved to a farm near Ashton, Iowa in 1936. She attended country school in Floyd Township through 8th grade. After her education, she helped on the family’s farm. The Anderson family moved again in 1953 to a farm near Trosky, Minnesota. While living near Trosky, Roszella met Orland Hunter. The two were united in marriage on April 12, 1954 at the Methodist Church in Pipestone, Minnesota. In March of 1955, the young couple moved to Orland’s father’s farm near Jasper, Minnesota. The two were blessed with five children, and lived on the farm for many years. Orland died on October 18, 2000. After his death, Roszella continued to live on the farm. Roszella moved in to Pipestone. Due to failing health, Roszella moved in to the Pipestone County Hospice House. Roszella died at the Hospice House on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the age of 84 years, one month, and two days.

She is lovingly remembered by her four children, Eugene (Roxy) Hunter of Rapid City, South Dakota, LeAnn (Michael) Sieberg of Mankato, Minnesota, Darla (Tom) Thompson of Phoenix, Arizona, and Denise Paulsen (Glenn Vonk) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; four sisters, Mary Arndt of Jasper, Diane (Fred) Lichtsinn of Marshall, Minnesota, and Linda Bruns of Pipestone, Lavonne (Herman) Lichtsinn of Lake Benton; many nieces and nephews; and many other loving friends and family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orland; her daughter, Debra; two brothers, Orville and Delbert Anderson; two sisters, Donna Lichtsinn and Eunice Sibson; four brothers-in-law, Melvin Lichtsinn, Albert Arndt Jr., Gary Bruns, and Robert Sibson; and one sister-in-law, Alvira Anderson.
