Obituary for Steven Holter
STEVEN HOLTER was born to Hans and Marilyn (Johnson) Holter on July 10, 1959 in Pipestone, Minnesota. He attended public school in Pipestone where he graduated from Pipestone High School in 1977. Later that same year, Steve joined the U.S. Navy and devoted 15 years of faithful service on the USS Constellation. After his discharge from the service in 1992, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Memphis, Tennessee from 1995-1998. In 1998, Steve returned to Pipestone to live with his family. On Friday, February 25, 2011, he died at the Pipestone County Medical Center at the age of 51 years, seven months and 15 days.
Steve was a summer athlete, and he enjoyed baseball, softball, football, wrestling, bowling and fishing. He also liked watching the Minnesota Vikings, WWE Wrestling and Nascar on television.
He is lovingly remembered by his children, Tarra and her husband Tom Sherrill and Chad Holter, both of Hanford, California, and Ryan Holter of Nashville, Tennessee; two sisters, Lianne Buckmiller and Helen Holter, both of Pipestone, Minnesota; one niece, Tammy and her husband Dave Downing of Danbury, Iowa; two nephews, John Buckmiller and his special friend Jenae of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Sean Holter of Pipestone, Minnesota; his uncle, Charles Holter of Jasper, Minnesota; and his aunt, Mary Ann Sanchez-Holter of California. He was preceded in death by his parents and one uncle, Henry.
