Steven Sand

Steven Keith Sand was born April 21, 1946 in Tyler, Minnesota to Norman and Dorothy (Zvorak) Sand. He grew up in Russell, Minnesota where he was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church. He graduated from Russell High School in 1964. He helped his uncle, Donald Sand, in his farming operation for a few months until he went to the Kansas City area for technical training in the winter of 1964-65. On June 2, 1965 he began a career with Patterson Dental Company that lasted almost 43 years, until his retirement on April 30, 2008. During this time he lived in and worked out of the Minneapolis and St. Paul area. He moved back to Russell in August 2012. On Wednesday, September 4, 2013 Steve died unexpectedly at his home in Russell at the age of 67.

Steve's pastimes included traveling and playing bingo. He enjoyed visiting and spending time with family and friends.

Steve will be lovingly remembered by his brother, Leon Sand and his wife Linda of Russell, Minnesota, and his sister, Jill Jaspersen and her husband Terry of Tyler, Minnesota; nieces, Lisa (Nathan) Towne of Amiret, Minnesota and Katy (Shawn) Vos of Tyler, Minnesota; nephews, Luke Sand and Lenny (Heather) Sand, all of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Barry Jaspersen of Bismarck, North Dakota; great-nephews, Tucker and Tyson Vos, and Tradyn Sand; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Dorothy Sand; and a sister, Janet Lowe.
