TAMMIE JUNGERS SWENSON was born on March 13, 1958 to James and Donna (Peters) Jungers in Sibley, Iowa. She was baptized in March of 1958 in Sibley and later confirmed at Little Flower in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Tammie spent a portion of her childhood living in Sibley and briefly in Sioux Falls until she and her family settled in Luverne, Minnesota. Tammie graduated from Luverne High School in 1976. On June 4, 1977 she was united in marriage to Rick Behr at St. John Lutheran Church in Luverne. This union was blessed with two daughters, Trista and Jessica. She and Rick were later divorced. On October 26, 1993 Tammie married Thomas Swenson at the Rock County Courthouse in Luverne. Tammie lived most of her adult life in Luverne. She worked various jobs until she became disabled. Recently, Tammie had relocated to Oakland, Iowa and became a resident of Oakland Manor Nursing Home. On Tuesday, February 28, 2017 Tammie passed away peacefully at Oakland Manor Nursing Home at the age of 58 years, 11 months and 15 days.

Tammie enjoyed helping with the church services held at Oakland Manor Nursing Home. Her other sources of enjoyment included gardening, playing cards, cooking, couponing, fishing, helping others and most importantly, spending time with family and friends.

Tammie is survived by her husband, Thomas Swenson of Luverne; two daughters, Trista Behr and Jessica Behr, both of Luverne; two grandchildren, Blake Swenson and Shaun Swenson Jr; father, James Jungers of Luverne; siblings, Terrie (John) Binford of Luverne and Timothy (Robyn Flick) Jungers of Sioux Falls; aunt, Colleen Macken of Portland, Oregon; uncle, Dale Peters of Worthington, Minnesota; nieces, Brittney (Neil) McNab of Brewster, Minnesota and Sophia Jungers of St. Paul, Minnesota; nephew, Tyler Williams of Luverne; two great-nieces; mother-in-law, Virgene Bullis of Luverne; brother-in-law, Rodney Swenson of Knoxville, Iowa; and one granddog, Frankie Behr; and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Donna Jungers; maternal grandparents, Chester and Agatha Peters; and paternal grandparents, Emil and Clara Jungers.
