TED GABRIEL LINGEN was born on May 23, 1965, to Dick and Stella (Feyereisen) Lingen in Woodstock, Minnesota. He was raised and began his education in Woodstock. Ted was baptized at St. Martin Catholic Church in Woodstock. During his childhood he enjoyed playing the tuba as a member of the high school band and the Jasper Blowhards. He graduated from Pipestone High School in 1983, and furthered his studies at Dunwoody Technical Institute majoring in Automotive Technology. He enlisted in the Army Reserve in 1983 and served until 1995, as Senior Wheel Vehicle Mechanic and Wrecker Operator and earned the rank of Staff Sergeant during Desert Storm. Ted began his career at Ben-Hur Ford in 1984, where he was employed for 13 years. He then worked for Denny Gasper Ford until 2005, and later at Lift Solutions Inc. Ted worked with Dakota Horizons Girl Scouts from 2019-2020, and most recently MH Equipment.

Ted was united in marriage to Paula (Sunderland) on June 29, 1985, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Minnesota. He was a current member of church, and served as a Eucharistic Minister, Parish Council member, and St. Joseph Cemetery Board member. Ted and Paula resided in Jasper and were blessed with three children. His family meant everything to him; he was an amazing father and grandfather. Many beloved memories were made on camping trips together. Ted also loved to cook and was a grill enthusiast. He could frequently be found working in his shop, but appreciated the time he was able to spend fishing. Ted was truly in his element when riding his side-by-side in the Black Hills. On Wednesday, March 17, 2021, Ted passed away at the Sanford USD Medical Center at the age of 55 years, nine months, 25 days. He was an easy going man and his sense of humor will be remembered by many.

Ted is survived by his wife, Paula of Jasper; children, Anthony (Sara) of Brandon, South Dakota, Thomas (Samantha) of Baltic, South Dakota, and Timothy of Brandon; four grandchildren, Nora, Connor, Adeline, and Evelyn; mother, Stella of Jasper; siblings, Luke (Peggy) of Sioux Falls, Jerry (Diane) of Sioux Falls, Gail (Dan) Dekkers of Hawarden, Iowa, Bob (Jolene) of Parker, South Dakota, Matt (Amber) of Lincoln, Nebraska; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Dick Lingen and niece, Joni Lingen.
