Tonya Jean Dressen

Tonya Jean Dressen was born January 29, 1959 to Earl and Joanne (Boysen) Hall in Anchorage, Alaska. Her and her family grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Tonya spent her childhood years riding horses and swimming. She loved animals, especially puppies. In 1977 Tonya made her home in Tyler, Minnesota, where she fell in love with Curtis Dressen. On July 21, 1978, Tonya and Curt were united in marriage at the Minnehaha County Courthouse. They were blessed with a daughter, Shantel, and a son, Cody. Tonya received her GED in 1979. She later attended Minnesota West Technical College where she studied graphic design.

Tonya held many positions throughout the years, including; caring for the elderly and disabled adults; paraprofessional at the school in Minneota, Minnesota; and volunteering at the St. Dionysius Catholic Church teaching the CCD classes. She had a big heart and was always a care giver to others. Tonya passed away Friday, March 5, 2021, at the Avera Tyler Hospital in Tyler at the age of 62 years, one month, and seven days.

Tonya enjoyed reading and cooking, gardening/planting flowers, and roses. She especially enjoyed watching over her grandchildren. Tonya will be remembered for having a strong faith, believing in Jesus Christ, and angels.

Tonya is survived by her husband of 42 years, Curt; children, Shantel (Sean) Pattison of Lake Benton, Minnesota, and Cody (Heather) Dressen of Tyler; grandchildren, Logan Pattison, Dillan Dressen, Brianna Pattison, and Mariah Dressen; sister, Mary (Mike) Lund of Sioux Falls; and many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joanne and Earl Hall; and siblings Jamie and John Hall.
