Wilma Faaborg

Wilma Ernestine Louise Faaborg was born September 14, 1916 in Lake Benton, Minnesota to Charlie and Mary Lindemann. She was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church in Lake Benton. As a child she moved with her parents to Bagley, Minnesota for eight years, then moved to Park River, North Dakota and back to Lake Benton. She attended country school. She did housework and was a nanny for two-and-a-half years in Libertyville, Illinois. On October 29, 1941 Wilma married Alfred Faaborg at the Diamond Lake Lutheran Church parsonage in rural Lake Benton. The couple moved to Abilene, Texas for two years. After World War II they farmed on the Faaborg farm in Marshfield Township near Tyler, Minnesota. They retired in 1976 and moved into Tyler. Alfred died in 1980. Wilma continued to live in their home until 2011when she moved to Danebod Village. In 2013, she entered Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Tyler where on Friday, January 2, 2015 Wilma died at the age of 98.

Wilma was a member of Danebod Lutheran Church and active in their Ladies Aid. She was a member of several clubs. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, going to the Senior Center, and making afghans. She especially enjoyed time spent with her family.

Wilma is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Nancy Peters and her husband George, and Karen Koster and her husband Byrl, all of Tyler; six grandchildren, Dena (Scott) Kimpling, Peach (Lance) Lamote, Roger (Joan) Koster, Dan (Joan) Koster, Peggy (Loren) Brockhouse, and Brandon (Mandy) Koster; 14 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Arlane Lindemann; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; her parents; twin brother William Lindemann and brother Elmer Lindemann; and granddaughter Kelli Koster.
