Alice Hansen

Alice Ann Hansen was born April 1, 1947 to Albert and Anna (Meyer) Ossenfort in Boyden, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. At a young age, she and her family moved to Luverne, Minnesota. Alice graduated from Luverne High School in 1965. On October 1, 1966, Alice was united in marriage to Ron Hansen at St. John Lutheran Church in Luverne. Ron and Alice settled in Hardwick, Minnesota where Alice would remain for the duration of her life. Alice worked at Fey Industries in Edgerton, Minnesota in the manufacturing and shipping departments. She retired in March 2010. Ron preceded her in death on October 3, 2012. A wish of her family was that she finally moved to Pipestone in June of 2025 to Ridgeview Estates. She had to be reminded several times that she was a resident and not a staff member as she loved helping people there. She always said she was a Luvernitte, a Hardwickian and now a Pipestonean. Alice passed away on June 18, 2026 at the Pipestone County Hospice House at 79 years, 2 months and 17 days.

Alice was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hardwick, where she was involved in the LWML and the quilting group. Alice invested a substantial amount of her time volunteering in various areas in her community. She loved shaking dice and having a beer or two with her Hardwick friends. Alice loved helping anyone and everyone. Alice had a beautiful faith, her kindness, and the way she made everyone around her feel special. She always had a way of lighting up every room she entered. No matter how many people are around, she made people feel like they are the most important person in the world. It was such a rare gift. She was one of the most powerful examples of faith. She showed what it looked like to trust God, love others and live with grace and joy even through the difficult times. Her greatest joy was her family and especially her great-grandchildren.

Alice is lovingly remembered by her children, Theresa (Terry) Swenson of Pipestone, Minnesota, and Trevor (Julie) Hansen of Bellevue, Nebraska; grandchildren, Taylor (Carl) Johnson, Naomi (Derek) Juhl, Cody Swedberg, and Chelsie (Shane) Chinn; and five great-grandchildren, Callum, Beckham, Carston, Sophia, and Jamison.
