Arlene D. Remme

ARLENE DORIS REMME was born on October 7, 1926, to John and Dora "Bruhn" Schmuck, in Springwater Township of Rock County, Minnesota. She was baptized at First Presbyterian Church in Luverne, Minnesota. As a child, Arlene lived in the Lismore and Kenneth, Minnesota areas, and attended school there. She was united in marriage on October 14, 1945 to Walter R. Remme at the Presbyterian Manse in Luverne. God blessed them with three children. Together, they farmed the Remme family farm south of Kenneth, sharing a love of the land and nature. They were members of Blue Mound and Kenneth Lutheran Churches. When Kenneth Lutheran Church closed in June of 2015, Arlene transferred to First Presbyterian Church in Luverne. Besides working at Magnolia School Cafeteria for a number of years, Arlene enjoyed reading, crocheting, and had an avid interest in genealogy.

In January of 1992, Arlene and Walter moved to Bishop Street in Luverne where she continued to live until she moved to the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage on August 21, 2019. On Saturday, August 31, 2019, Arlene passed away peacefully at the age of 92 years, 10 months, and 24 days.

Arlene is survived by her children, Dianne Zoellner (special friend, Francis Keller) of Brandon, South Dakota, Dennis (Norma) Remme of Magnolia, Minnesota, and Carla (Douglas) Ennenga of Kanaranzi, Minnesota; grandchildren, Rachel (Joseph) Schaffran, Elizabeth Ennenga, Wendy (Tom) Wills, Shari (Aaron) Moerke, Scott (Lisa) Remme, Susan Bork, Sara (Joe) Hyser, Angela (Brian) Wrightsman, Jason (Teresa) Zoellner, and Rebecca (Timothy) Smith; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; three siblings, Eleanor (Orville) Reese, Harvey (Lillian) Schmuck, LeRoy (Beverly) Schmuck; and dear son-in-law, James Zoellner.
