She was raised on the farm and attended country school in District 41. Upon completion of her education, she helped on the farm. On November 28, 1942, she was united in marriage to Floyd Emery Ross at McChord Field, Washington. Following their marriage, Augusta remained in Washington with Floyd until he was sent overseas in December, 1943. At that time, she went back to live with her parents on their farm near Jasper. After Floyd’s discharge from the service, they lived and farmed near Jasper. In 1966, they moved to a farm near Pipestone and farmed until their retirement in 1978. Floyd preceded her in death on June 21, 1998. After his death, Augusta continued to live on the farm. In 2013, Augusta moved to the Sunrise Village Assisted Living in Jasper. Due to her failing health, Augusta moved to Ava’s House Hospice in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
