Bobby Spencer

Bobby Lee Spencer was born on September 12, 1952 to Clifford and Geraldine (Nelson) Spencer in Hendricks, Minnesota. He lived with his family on a farm by Lake Benton, Minnesota and attended country school through the 8th grade.  On July 6, 2002, he was united in marriage to Rhonda TenCate in Lake Benton.  After their marriage, they lived in Lake Benton, then Tyler, Minnesota before moving back to Lake Benton to care for his father.  He worked for Bill Hammer Farm in South Dakota, Dan Miller Farm in rural Holland, Minnesota and Jim Lustfield Farm in rural Holland.  He retired in 2018.  On November 21, 2023, he became a resident at Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone and passed away there on Monday, November 27, 2023 at the age of 71 years, two months and 15 days.  

He was a member of United Methodist Church in Lake Benton. He did fieldwork for farmers and enjoyed tinkering with tractors and mowers.  He will be remembered for his stubbornness.  

He was lovingly remembered by his wife, Rhonda Spencer of Lake Benton; daughter, Belinda Spencer of Pipestone, Minnesota; step-children, Stacey (Carl) Nielsen of Tyler, Minnesota, Lana (Jeremy) Schwarz of Remer, Minnesota, Brent (Ashley) Burch of Pipestone, Kent Burch of Marshall, Minnesota and Patty (John) Coleman of Lake Benton; grandchildren, Caiden, Romeo and Amelia; step-grandchildren, Brett, Dylan, Collin, Ashlyn, Leah, Kendra, Skye, Raelyn and Holden; one sister, Loralee Spencer of Marshall, Minnesota; niece, Lisa Ross; and nephew, Jason Hienrich.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dennis Spencer. 

A private family burial will take place at a later date in the Memorial Hill Cemetery in Lake Benton.
