Bonita "Bonnie" Johnson was born in Lankin, North Dakota, to Richard and Marcella Brandvold, where she was raised. She was confirmed at Elim Lutheran Church in Fargo, North Dakota and graduated from North Fargo High School with the Class of 1976. After graduation Bonnie moved to Jordan, Minnesota where she married Carl Johnson in 1983. In the late 90s, Bonnie moved to Belle Plaine, Minnesota and spent a few years in St. Bonifacious, Minnesota before residing in Pipestone, Minnesota where she purchased her own home in 2020.
Bonnie enjoyed camping, attending concerts, and listening to music. She always looked forward to the trips she took with her Mom to Las Vegas. She liked to watch the Minnesota Vikings play, and spend time with family, friends, and her beloved dogs. She had a wonderful sense of humor and will be remembered as an honest, lovable, loyal, strong, and fiercely independent woman.
Bonnie was a dedicated and hardworking woman throughout her life. She began by helping on her family's farm and later assisted with the family-owned bar. She went on to work factory jobs before building a career in retail management. Most recently, she was employed at Hank's Foods, where she worked faithfully until her passing.
Bonnie passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at her home in Pipestone, Minnesota.
