Bruce Dahl

Bruce Charles Dahl was born on May 23, 1958 to Jerome and Barbara (Holmes) Dahl in Tyler, Minnesota. He had two brothers growing up, there was never a quiet moment.  When Bruce was five they moved from Balaton, Minnesota back to Tyler to the same house they lived in before.  He loved riding bike, fishing, playing sports (basketball and football).  When he was ten he was burned while playing out at the dump grounds and spent all summer in the hospital recovering.  He attended school at Tyler.  He was a Dane.  He had a high school sweetheart.  He graduated in 1977.  Shortly after that he married his sweetheart, Gail Wigton on December 17, 1978.  They marriage was blessed with two daughters, Jessica and Tara.  Bruce worked a few different jobs from construction to being a pigeon catcher.  He had many friends, too many to name, but each and every one of you have left a treasure with him and you will hold memories of him.  He had gotten divorced and in 2002 he met Barb Linneman.  She had four children, Brandy, Nikki, Brady, and Jesse.  The two shared many good years together.  Dad had been diagnosed with cancer in 2015.  He had quite the battle ahead of him.  He showed everyone what a fighter he was.  In 2017, Barb and Bruce got married, and in 2019 were divorced.  Later that fall, he moved in with his daughter, Tara, and her family.  He continued fighting his battle with cancer.  No one fights alone.  Team Dahl, always and forever.  He had many challenges put in his path of fighting but he never gave up.  He was his daughter’s hero.
Bruce was a member of the Danebod Lutheran Church in Tyler.  He loved his grandchildren more than life.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting pool, and dancing.  He enjoyed pulling pull tabs, and having a screwdriver every now and then.  He was the kindest person you could meet.  He would give you his last shirt off his back.  He was stubborn, underestimated, and very hard on everything.  His family is proud of the man he was.  He will be remembered as a hero and a fighter.
A few weeks ago he was in a head on car accident.   Nothing went in his favor after that.  He was released on Tuesday, March 21, and Wednesday evening he had two strokes and ended up entering the care of the Prairie Home Lockwood House in Marshall, Minnesota.  He passed away there on Thursday morning, March 23, 2023 at age 64.
Bruce is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Tara Cowell (and household members, Lewayne Lundeberg and Travis Cowell) of Ghent, Minnesota; his mother, Barb Dahl of Tyler, Minnesota; grandchildren, Dalton, Mason, Kobe, Dakota, Patrick, Rylee, and Aubree; one great-granddaughter, Kinsley; son-in-law, Chad (fiancé, Jackie Wilson) Williams of Russell, Minnesota;  special friend, Barb Linneman and her children, Nikki, Brady, and Jesse; and his dog, Sunshine.  He was preceded in death by his father, Jerome; daughter, Jessica; two grandsons, Levi and Christian; two brothers, Mike and Jerry; and his wife, Gail.
