Caroline Elsie Heidebrink was born on February 19, 1931 to John and Elsie (Wussow) Erks on a farm in Pipestone County, Minnesota. She was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Pipestone, and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland, Minnesota where she remained a member throughout her life. She attended country school near Holland and worked at Ben Franklin in Pipestone from 1946-1949. On September 18, 1949, Caroline was united in marriage to Marvin Heidebrink at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland. The couple moved to Currie, Minnesota near Lake Shetek in 1950 where they farmed for three years. In 1953, Caroline and Marv moved to a farm north of Woodstock, Minnesota. They were blessed with four children, Rollie, Chris, Monte, and Doug. In 1978 Caroline was hired by the Hope Day Care Center in Ruthton, Minnesota where she worked until 1984 when they retired from farming and moved to Holland. They continued to enjoy living in their home in Holland until March of 2022 when the two moved to Heritage Pointe Senior Living in Marshall, Minnesota. Caroline and Marvin have been lovingly cared for during their time at Heritage Pointe. Caroline passed away peacefully there on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at the age of 92.
Caroline volunteered with Pipestone Family Services and was very active in church. Caroline loved gardening, and especially enjoyed running the riding lawn mower. She was an avid bowler and golfer and would never miss an opportunity to get out on the course in either Pipestone or Tyler where she and Marv were long-time members.
Caroline is survived by her husband, Marvin of Holland; children, Rollie (LuAnn) Heidebrink of Dell Rapids, South Dakota, Chris (Mike) Turok of Nekoosa, Wisconsin, Monte (Shelley) Heidebrink of North Mankato, Minnesota, and Doug (Doretta) Heidebrink of LeMars, Iowa; and 10 grandchildren, Erica (Jason) Fersdahl, Mandi (Shane Tassoul) Wilke, Comeec (Jared) Hunter, Reagan (Jack) West, Jennifer (Craig) Brannstrom, Jon (significant other, Angela Rivera) Heidebrink, Maddisan (Tyler) Whiteside, Bailey (Bill) Weets, Jordan (fiancé, Colton Clark) Heidebrink, and Madison (Jarod) Steffes; 21 great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Arleen Heidebrink of Pipestone, Minnesota.
