Cody Enger

Cody Dale Enger was born on June 4, 1996, to Scott and Shari (Baatz) Enger in Pipestone, Minnesota. As a kid he loved being outdoors. He enjoyed dirtbiking and fourwheeling near his Grandma Baatz’s house and never missed an opportunity to get absolutely covered in mud. Cody enjoyed deer hunting. He looked forward to deer season every year with his dad, sisters and cousins. Cody attended school in Pipestone, graduating high school in 2015. During his sophomore year of high school he began working for Kelly Weber at K & A Auto Body and continued working there until the present time. Kelly taught Cody everything he knew about auto body. He was passionate about working on cars and getting them back in working order. Cody had a special bond with Kelly and considered him a second Dad.

On March 20, 2020 Cody and Lorissa (Derby) welcomed their son Kyren into the world. Cody was happiest when Kyren was with him. They both lit up whenever they saw each other. Kyren is a spitting image of his daddy and loves all things cars and trucks just like his dad did.

Cody's favorite phrase which he truly took to heart was, “everything happens for a reason”.  He was creative, innovative and loved to put a smile on everyone's faces.  Above all else, Cody’s personality was his greatest feature.  He was larger than life. His beautiful, bright smile would light up every room he was in. He had the biggest heart and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Cody was always more concerned with the feelings and needs of others over his own.  He never missed a chance to tell those he loved  “I love you” and give the biggest and best hugs. He loved spending time with his family and friends.  Cody passed away at the Pipestone County Medical Center in Pipestone on Friday, April 21, 2023 at the age of 26. He will be deeply missed by so many.

Cody is lovingly remembered by his son, Kyren; his dog, Rubi; parents, Scott and Shari Enger of Pipestone, Minnesota; sisters, Mikayla (Brett) Heronimus of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Alyssa Enger of Pipestone; paternal grandmother, Janice (LeRoy) Baumgard of Fulda, MN; maternal grandmother, Donna Baatz-Hulm of Jasper, Minnesota; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Elmer Enger, Harlan Henrickson, Richard Baatz, and Jim Hulm; aunt, Lori Rave; and cousin, Chris Nath.
