Coleena "Miss Marty" Colemer

*** UPDATE REGARDING THE CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR COLEENA ANN (“MISS MARTY”) COLEMER: ***

The family has decided to hold an informal gathering to pay tribute to Marty’s life at the private residence of Shannon & Christine Colemer at 1249 US HWY 75 Pipestone, MN 56164.

Unfortunately due to Marty's final-disposition assistance from SWHHS still remaining under review, the family has chosen to avoid any additional expenses while that matter is being resolved.

We welcome those who would like to drop by and share their memories of Marty with the family.

Thank you for your understanding.

Coleena “Miss Marty” Ann Colemer was born on August 21, 1965 to Charles and Sharon (Norton) Colemer in Wadena, Minnesota. At the age of 13, she moved with her family to Pipestone, Minnesota where she was raised and attended school. During her high school years, she was involved with gymnastics, track and was in the colorguard with the marching band and enjoyed a trip to the Macy’s Day Parade. She also worked at Lange’s Café and Villager in Pipestone. In 1983, she graduated from Pipestone High School. After graduation, she moved to Hutchinson, Minnesota where she was employed at Lamplighter, Burger King, and Elliott’s Café. She then moved to Tennessee and started M & M Cleaning with her baby sister (Mandi & Marty). In 2008, she returned to Pipestone and became employed at Subway where she got the name “Miss Marty”. On Sunday, May 31, 2026, Marty passed away at her home in Pipestone at the age of 60 years.

Marty loved the Vikings - talking about them and complaining about plays and losses. She called them “My Vikings” and enjoyed watching games with her family. Purple was her favorite color. Miss Marty’s love language was food and serving others which made her feel good. She enjoyed playing Scrabble and Yahtzee and watching “Murder She Wrote”, “Xfiles” and Crime Dramas. She loved going to concerts. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Jacob Colemer-French of Bemidji, Minnesota; her parents, Charles and Sharon Colemer of Pipestone; her siblings, Paula (Keith) Carlson of Bemidji, Shannon (Christine) Colemer of Pipestone, and Mandi (Brian) Snyder of Tennessee; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and some very special friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Charles Colemer; her niece, Macie Christine Colemer; her grandparents; uncles and aunts; and her very special friend, Harlen.
