Danielle Malwitz-White Mountain

Danielle Marie Malwitz-White Mountain was born on February 23, 1974, in Fridley, MN to Ron and Ardella Malwitz. They lived there for a couple of years before moving to Sioux Falls, SD. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran church in Howard, SD.

Growing up, Danielle enjoyed baking goodies with her great grandmother. She and her cousins would eat all the maraschino cherries. Danielle won a beauty contest receiving a trophy 4 foot tall. Danielle enjoyed going camping with her grandparents and to the races with her aunt.

Danielle became a mother early in life and shortly after completed schooling by obtaining her GED in 1992. Danielle worked at a variety of places throughout her life in customer service. Danielle balanced becoming a new mother and new older sister well. Danielle was the mother of 6 children: Jamie, Alexis, Jessica, Brianna, Brittney, and Kevin.

Danielle met her love and life partner Kip in 1994. In 1996, she and her family moved to Luverne, MN where they lived even today. She was forgiving and always gave people another chance. Although she became a mother at a young age, she blossomed to be the best mother anyone could ask for. She raised her children to stick together, to count on each other, and to give second chances. They always knew they could go to her with anything in life. She had a generous spirit and with her family had a lot of good times. She loved traveling to Standing Rock Reservation to visit family. She loved music, especially Jelly Roll and Yelawolf. She lived a simple four twenty friendly and fulfilling life.

Danielle enjoyed gambling whether it was playing bingo or scratch tickets and would go to a casino every year for her birthday. If she wasn’t home with family or watching Ghost Adventures with Journey, you would see her at bingo most Thursday nights. Danielle’s biggest Jackpot in life was her children, grandchildren, and Journey.

Danielle faced many medical difficulties throughout her life; many doctors called her a medical mystery. She walked fearlessly through life, building a life of resilience, strength, and unconditional love. She fought a good fight but in the end was sick of being sick. Ultimately, she decided to enter hospice care, where she passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Danielle wanted people to learn from her health experiences by telling those around her: “take care of yourselves”

Danielle passed away surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Ava’s Hospice House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

She is lovingly remembered by her children Jamie of Parshall, North Dakota, Jessica of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Alexis of Parshall, North Dakota, Brianna (Kyle) of Luverne, Minnesota, Brittney (Will) of Canton, South Dakota, and Kevin (Britt) of Worthington, Minnesota; brothers, Chad (Stephanie) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Richard (Ashley) of Crystal, Minnesota, and Ryan (Morgan) of Luverne, Minnesota; 14 grandchildren, James, Malachai, Jasmine, Jaylynn, Aubrie, Delia, Juliana, Lily, Nolan, Kaidyn, Ryan, Jean, Sage, Ella, Chester; Life long Friend, Kip White Mountain; and her parents, Ronnie and Ardella Malwitz.

Danielle was preceded in death by family and friends with whom she is now reunited with.
