Deborah M. Javner

May 10, 1967 — February 12, 2023

DEBORAH M. JAVNER was born on May 10, 1967 to Albertus and Jeanette (Johnson) VanderPoel in Pipestone, Minnesota. As a young child, she was daddy’s little girl. She was glued to his hip, following him wherever he went on the farm. Deborah was baptized at the first Lutheran Church in Pipestone on November 24, 1968. When she was six years old, Deborah lost her father and the family relocated to Ruthton, Minnesota. She went to school at Ruthton Public School, graduating in 1986. While in high school, Deborah participated in band, choir, basketball, and volleyball. After graduation, she attended college at Southwest Technical College, pursuing a degree as a general secretary. She then moved around for a few years before her marriage to John Javner on July 13, 1991 in Adrian, Minnesota. The couple settled in Hardwick, Minnesota, where they were blessed with three children, Chelsey, Dalton, and Chandra. Deborah remained living in Hardwick for the next thirty years until her passing on February 12, 2023 at the age of 55 years, 9 months, and 2 days.

Deborah was a lifelong member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Ruthton. Her family will forever remember the deep love she showed them, as well as her lifetime display of persistent, strong-willed determination. She enjoyed baking, gardening, playing with her cats, and being outdoors. She also delighted in 80s Hairband music, and was recently able to share that love with her family by attending live concerts. Most of all, Deborah loved spending time with her children and other family. She especially enjoyed playing with her granddaughter Sawyer.

She is survived by her children, Chelsey (Danny) Steinwand of Tyler, Minnesota, Dalton Javner of Hardwick, Minnesota, and Chandra Javner of Hardwick, Minnesota; grandchild Sawyer Steinwand; siblings Randy (Connie) VanderPoel of Tyler, Minnesota, Greg (special friend Missy Bauman) VanderPoel of Lake Wilson, Minnesota, Dale Vander Poel of Worthington, Minnesota, and Ronda Swenson of Slayton, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents Bert and Jeanette Vander Poel and three angel babies.
