On Sunday August 14, 2022 Delno Paul Hansen, beloved brother, uncle and friend passed away. He was 84 years of age, born to Peter and Mary (Hagensen) Hansen in Tyler, Minnesota, on November 22, 1937. After graduating from high school and serving in the United States Army, reaching the rank of Specialist four, Delno worked in the plumbing trade, eventually becoming a master plumber. For many years he worked for Bisbee Plumbing and Heating of Marshall, Minnesota.
Delno was a proud member of A.C. Hansen American Legion Post 185 where he was a member for 58 years and was also a long-time member of the McKinley Masonic Lodge in Tyler. Delno spent a number of years as a volunteer fireman in both Marshall and Tyler, and for a time resided in the old Marshall fire house. He was an avid gardener, outdoorsman, collector of antiques and enjoyed playing pinochle. Delno loved his family and always showed an interest in his nieces, nephews and their children. One of his many enjoyments was to play the part of Santa Claus at Christmas. He loved a good prank and enjoyed an occasional beer.
Delno is lovingly remembered by his sisters, Marie Berg Schmahl of Crawford, Nebraska and Merna Thomsen of Marshall; five nieces and nephews, Janet Sheldon of Iowa City, Iowa, Clark Berg of Kalispell, Montana, Peter Berg of Deerwood, Minnesota, Cheryl Witt of Crawford, Nebraska and Paul Berg of Deerwood; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jens Hansen; great-nephew Patrick Sheldon; and cousin, Clydie Larsen. Blessed be his memory!
