DENNIS ROBERT FORD was born on May 17, 1939 to James and Ethel (Aust) Ford in Pipestone, Minnesota. He was raised on the family farm west of Woodstock, Minnesota. He attended Country School and later Pipestone Public School. After completing his education, he helped on the family farm. Dennis was drafted into the United States Army on March 4, 1963. He was united in marriage to Catherine Mary Drexler on May 18, 1963 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lakefield, Minnesota. Dennis’ military service brought him to Chinon, France and a short time later Catherine joined him there. During their residence in France, they were blessed with the birth of their first child, Diana. Upon Dennis’ honorable discharge they returned to the Woodstock area and Dennis served in the National Guard for two years. In 1966 the couple purchased the farm where Dennis would farm the rest of his life. It was while living there they were blessed with three more children, Christine, Robert, and Laurie. Dennis’ passion was being outdoors farming and working with cattle. He helped his son and grandson through the fall 2021 harvest. Dennis entered hospice care and died peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at the age of 82 years.

Dennis had been a member of St. Martin Catholic Church in Woodstock until its closing a few years ago. He loved being with his grandchildren and playing various games with them. The family will forever remember his laughter and the nearly constant smile he wore on his face.

Dennis is lovingly remembered by his wife, Catherine of Woodstock; four children, Diana (Kregg) Kircher of Severance, Colorado, Christine (Chad) Ford-Elliott of Parker, Colorado, Robert Ford of Lake Wilson, Minnesota, and Laurie (Chad) Bucher of Jasper, Minnesota; seven grandchildren, Laura and Justin Babb, Taylor and Brady Ford, Dylan Ford, and Amelia and Colin Bucher; one brother, Steve (Donna) Ford of Lake Wilson, Minnesota; and many other relatives and friends.
