Dorothy L. Loger

Dorothy L. Loger was born on November 6, 1933 to Fred and Laura (Foley) Wollmuth on a farm in Pipestone, Minnesota. She was the youngest child in a family of 14 children. Life was hard in those days, but it taught her discipline and how to do every day chores like hauling water from the stream to the house, how to raise a garden, how to can foods, how to cook, and yes, her least favorite chore, how to dig potatoes.  Dorothy went to school for eight years in Hatfield, Minnesota and four years in Pipestone. She graduated in 1951. Dorothy married the love of her life, Marvin Loger, on November 3, 1954. They both worked hard, Marvin at IBP for 25 years and Dorothy at Hakes Foods, which later became Scrivner Foods, as a secretary for over 33 years. She later went to work at Golden Plump for over 3 years and retired in 2002. Marvin preceded her in death on September 5, 2002. Dorothy continued to reside in their home. On Sunday, April 2, 2023, Dorothy died at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 89 years, four months and 26 days.

Dorothy was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Luverne. She loved putting 1000-piece puzzles together and then swapping them with her sisters, Louise and Janet. She was also an avid reader and loved watching western movies.
