Elmer Stoltenberg

Elmer Lee Stoltenberg was born on October 8, 1936 to Herbert and Erna (Loose) Stoltenberg in Pipestone County, Minnesota. He was raised in Grange Township (rural Holland), Pipestone County, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at First Presbyterian Church in Holland. He attended Pipestone High School, graduating in 1953. After graduation he began working for Clifford Christensen. He worked for him for a number of years and made many combine runs down to Texas. He also worked for Culligan in Pipestone, Minnesota until the end of his working years. He enjoyed being called "The Culligan Man" and very much enjoyed the social part of the job which was the opportunity to stop and visit with homeowners/clients when he dropped off their water or softener salt. He loved to visit! In February of 2019, he became a resident of Falls Landing in Pipestone and in August of 2023 he moved to the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone. He passed away there on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, age the age of 88.

Elmer was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Holland for many years. He was an avid reader; he would pick up any farm magazine, or tractor or implement manual, and read it cover to cover. He would read anything he could get his hands on! Elmer served his nation faithfully as a National Guardsman for many years. Elmer was voted "Valentine's Day King" this year at Good Sam; it was a day that brought him a lot of joy!

Elmer is lovingly remembered by his siblings, Lloyd (Jean) Stoltenberg of Pipestone, Marie Klingbile of Lennox, South Dakota, and Carmen Borg of Cottage Grove, Minnesota; five nieces and nephews, Dean (Nancy) Stoltenberg, Vicki (Lyle) Korver, Mike Klingbile, Chad (Sharon) Stoltenberg, and Kelly (Mark) Regnier; nine great-nieces and -nephews; many great-great-nieces and -nephews; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Erna; brothers, Emil and Donald Stoltenberg; sister, Sina Pederson; brothers-in-law, Dick Klingbile and Martin Pederson; niece-in-law, Glenda Klingbile; grandniece, Kami Jo Korver; and grandnephew, Justin Stoltenberg.

Blessed be his memory!
