Ezekiel Kruse

A private family service will be held Friday, June 2, at the Children’s Remembrance Garden in Luverne.

On October 10, 2022, Josh and Melanie (Monnier) Kruse received the news they were pregnant with a baby that they would later name, Ezekiel “Zeke” John Kruse. It was also on that same day his cousin, Samuel, was born. Zeke was treasured and loved fully during his time on this earth. He was read Bible stories every night by his parents, as they also read to his big sister, Lizzy. The family enjoyed Friday movie nights and Zeke even took in a show at the Luverne Drive-In. His parents are pretty confident he would have been a fan of both sweet and salty snacks. The two of them often had a craving for salt and vinegar chips, and anytime Melanie indulged in sweets, Zeke would become super active moving around inside her. Zeke’s dad, Josh, was busy preparing for his arrival. Josh remodeled the upstairs bathroom, redid the plumbing, and replaced the dining room flooring. His dad had just finished a bedroom for Lizzy to move into so that Zeke could have her old room all to himself. Lizzy was excited to be a big sister, and she would say “hi baby” and “I love you baby” to mom’s tummy. They were all so excited to meet their little man. On May 27, 2023, after growing in his mother’s womb for nearly his full-term pregnancy, Zeke was delivered as a stillborn infant at 19 inches long and 5 lb, 13.5 oz at Sanford Luverne Medical Center, Luverne, Minnesota. He only knew love in this world and is now receiving the perfect love of his Father in Heaven!

Zeke’s spirit will continue to live through parents, Joshua and Melanie; his sister, Elizabeth “Lizzy”; maternal grandparents, Thelma and Alan Monnier of Toronto, South Dakota; paternal grandparents, Dean and Sharlene Kruse of White, South Dakota; maternal great-grandmother, Doreen Johnson of Churchbridge, Saskatchewan; paternal great-grandparents, Roger and Claudette Kruse of White; aunts and uncles, Rebekah (Tyler) Rogness of Astoria, South Dakota, and their children, Luke and Samuel, Jacob (Holly) Monnier of Toronto, and their son, Logan, Andrew Monnier of Toronto, and Chelsea Kruse of Hartford, South Dakota. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents; Einar Johnson, and Alan “Dale” and Janis Monnier; and his paternal great-grandparents, John and Mary Kantola.
