Gail M. Hachmann

Gail Mathilda Hachmann was born November 14, 1936 on a farm in Sweet Township to Jacob and Mina Jacobson. Gail was baptized September 13, 1937 at Salem Church in Sweet Township. Gail grew up in Sweet Township attending District 35 Country School through eighth grade. Gail was confirmed May 27, 1951 at Salem Church as she continued to attend high school in Pipestone until graduating in 1954. After graduation Gail worked full-time for the ASC office in Pipestone, Minnesota until she met the love of her life Wilfried Hachmann and they were married October 10, 1959 at the E.U.B. Church in Pipestone, Minnesota. In 1961, Gail stepped away from her work at the ASC office to be a full-time farm wife, mother and volunteer. Wilfried and Gail moved to Trosky, Minnesota to start their life together. They became members of St. John's Lutheran Church in Trosky, Minnesota. Gail's main focus was always raising her own family but the members of the church were like family to her. Gail was very giving of her time, she was the Voters assembly secretary, Sunday school and Bible School teacher, Youth group leader, AAL Branch leader and 4-H leader.

Gail frequently made quilts and stocking caps for church missions. Hardanger was one of her favorite hobbies as well and many friends have been recipients of her work! Gail could always be found at her grandkids sporting events, and if it wasn't a Pipestone Arrows or Redwood Cardinal event she would be watching the Twins, Wild, Vikings, or Gophers. Throughout her life Gail was blessed to have some very special high school friends, Marilyn, Joyce, Elizabeth, Ardys, Sandy, Betty, Carol, Jeannine, and Barbara. Their friendships always held a special place in Gail's heart and the annual slumber parties were a highlight of her's as well as sharing the story of their Cuba trip after high school.
