Gloria Mundt

Gloria Ann (Runge) Mundt was born on January 6, 1936, to August and Bertha Runge. She grew up on the family farm near Arco, Minnesota, and later moved with her family to Wessington, South Dakota, where she completed her education.

After graduation, Gloria returned to Tyler, Minnesota, where she worked as a nurse’s aide at the Tyler Nursing Home. It was there that she met Jack Mundt. Gloria and Jack were united in marriage on April 23, 1955, beginning a lifetime of love, partnership, and adventure. They soon settled in Pipestone, Minnesota, where they made their home and raised their family.

They were blessed with three children: Daniel, Kathleen, and Scott. Gloria dedicated her life to caring for her family while also working outside the home. Over the years, she was employed at Good Samaritan Home, the Trading Post, and Pamida, where she worked until her retirement in 1999.

After the passing of her husband Jack in 2012, Gloria relocated to Shakopee, Minnesota to live with her daughter, Kathy Howard.

Gloria was a longtime member of St. Leo Catholic Church in Pipestone. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—spending time with family, camping, reading, and sharing laughter. Gloria and Jack especially loved road trips, traveling together, and taking long walks.
