Gordy worked for the City of Lake Benton as a water and street superintendent. From 1970 to 1985 Delores and Gordy owned and operated the Lakeside Tap in Lake Benton. In 1985 they moved to Bullhead City, Arizona and lived there until returning to Lake Benton in 1993 due to Delores' health condition. Delores preceded him in death on December 23, 1997.
