Harvey Dragstra

Harvey Wayne Dragstra was born on March 11, 1956 to Joe and Jennie (Brands) Dragstra in Sioux Center, Iowa. Growing up he enjoyed riding dirt bikes and taking care of his pet calf. Harv was proud to have restored a 1938 Chevy pickup during his teenage years. In 1974, he graduated from Southwest Minnesota Christian High School in Edgerton, Minnesota. Following graduation he began working for Bayliner in Pipestone and IBP in Luverne until they both closed. On October 19, 1984 he was united in marriage to Lori Van Eck at the Edgerton Christian Reformed Church. The couple settled on an acreage by Edgerton, where they raised their two sons, Justin and Kirk. For the last 28 years, Harv drove gravel truck for Hulstein Excavating in Edgerton. On Friday, March 13, 2026, Harv passed away at home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 70 years and 2 days.

Harv was a member of the Woodstock Community Church in Woodstock. He was passionate about cars, vintage tractors, and motorcycles. He looked forward to his annual family trips to the Black Hills. He had a genuine smile and laughter that was known to all and will always be remembered for that contagious smile.

Harv is survived by his wife, Lori (Van Eck) Dragstra of 42 years; sons, Justin (Kim) Dragstra of Balaton and Kirk (Mariah) Dragstra of Pipestone; 11 grandchildren, Ragan (Kalyb), Greyson, Hunter, Jadelyn, Rinstina, Shawn, Chance, Liam, Paisley, Taysom, and Kayson; one great-grandchild, Krew Wayne; siblings Warren Dragstra of Chandler, Dennis Dragstra of St. Louis, Marilyn (Brad) Hulstein of Edgerton, Jenean (Gary) Knutson of Brookings and Harlan (Lesli) Dragstra of Edgerton along with many in laws. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Jennie; infant twins siblings, Marilyn and Marlin; sister in law, Avis Dragstra; neice, Heather and nephew, Joseph.
