Helen Dahlstrom

Helen Ray Dahlstrom was born on January 13, 1945 to John and Eunice (Bell) Tambling in Mobile, Alabama. She graduated from Lakeview High School in Chicago, Illinois in 1963. After high school, Helen obtained a certificate as a typist. Helen was united in marriage with Brian Dahlstrom on October 16, 1965 in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. The family made their home in Mauston, Wisconsin in 1973. Helen worked in the fields of insurance and as a bond typist. Helen and Brian moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1997 to be closer to family. On Monday, March 4, 2024, Helen died at the Good Samaritan Society in Pipestone, Minnesota, at the age of 79 years, one month, and 22 days.

Helen was a great wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was a friend to many.  Helen was a very selfless person, always putting others first. Helen’s favorite activity was bowling. Helen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially spending time with their grandkids and great grandkids, which brought her great joy. Helen was known for her cheerful, positive outlook on life.  Helen had a very kind soul and will be greatly missed by all.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Debbie (Ivan) Kooiker of Luverne, Minnesota, and David (Ellen) Dahlstrom of Foley, Minnesota; grandchildren, Morgan (Richard) LaBouve, and Anna and Caleb Dahlstrom; great-grandchildren, Kinzleigh and Christopher Weiher; and brother, James (Sherry) Tambling. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brian; and parents, John and Eunice.
