Henrietta Wolfswinkle

August 29, 1924 — September 17, 2020

Henrietta “Etta” Dena Wolfswinkle peacefully went to her heavenly home on September 17, 2020. Etta was 96 years and 19 days young. Etta was born to Wesley and Johanna (Mouw) Bouman on August 29, 1924 on the family farm in Fountain Prairie Township of Pipestone County, Minnesota, where she was raised and attended school. Etta was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Holland, Minnesota.

Etta was united in marriage to John Wolfswinkle on October 12, 1948 in Holland, Minnesota. Following their marriage, they farmed for many years in the Holland and Woodstock, Minnesota areas. After their retirement, they moved into Holland. Following John’s death, Etta continued to live in Holland, until July 2015, when she made the decision to move to Falls Landing in Pipestone. In September 2020, Etta moved to the Pipestone County Hospice House.

She enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens and taking care of her houseplants. She had a vegetable garden well into her 80’s.

She was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, and grandma. Her granddaughters lovingly called her “Graham Cracker”. She loved taking pictures, especially of her granddaughters, and putting the pictures into albums. She loved spending time with them and her great grandbabies. She would often ask about them. She enjoyed Sunday morning visits with Wes and his dog, Molly.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Wesley Wolfswinkle and his wife Deb of Pipestone, Minnesota; granddaughters, Lexi (Clint) Ridley of St. Onge, South Dakota, Dana Wolfswinkle (Rylan Heesacker) of Gordon, Nebraska, and Vanessa (Jared) Hillard of Parkston, South Dakota; great-grandchildren, Cooper and Levi Ridley, Caidynn, Reignleigh and Radleigh Heesacker, and Emery and Hadley Hillard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; one son, William “Bill” Wolfswinkle; her parents; her brothers, Francis and Henry Bouman; and her sister, Winnie DeZeeuw.
Blessed be her memory!
