Honee Lee Longstreet

Honee Lee (Hagedorn) Longstreet, age 77, was the heart of our home and family.  She was born to Delores Jean (Hanson) and Howard John Hagedorn on October 10, 1946, in Pipestone, Minnesota. She joined an older brother, Bill, and was later joined by brother, Steve. Honee Lee graduated from Pipestone High School in 1964 and attended the Minnesota Business School in Minneapolis. On May 8, 1965, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert Vernon Longstreet, son of Marcella Mary Ann (Risch) and Vernon Wilson Longstreet.  

Honee Lee started working at Christensen Broadcasting (KLOH/KISD/KJOE Radio).  Music had always been a part of her life, and she loved her job at the radio station working there for 54 years.  She had many hobbies, including genealogy, camping, bowling, and refinishing furniture. If Honee Lee wasn't camping at Lake Shetek, she was watching her kids and grandkids compete in sports.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Pipestone Genealogical Society and the New England Genealogical Society.  Over the past years, Honee Lee overcame many health challenges; breast cancer, a stroke, and a broken femur.  She fought through these challenges with incredible determination to stay with loved ones as long as possible.  Honee passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024 at the Pipestone County Medical Center in Pipestone, Minnesota.
Honee Lee was a cherished wife, devoted mother, beloved grandmother, and adored great-grandmother.  She brought immense joy and genuine warmth to all who knew her.  She will be remembered for her joy, her kindness, her sense of humor, her infectious laugh, and hours of watching TV with her grandkids.

Honee Lee is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bob Longstreet; sons, Michael Robert (Bridgette) Longstreet of Pipestone, MN, and James Robert (Julie) Longstreet of Waverly, MN; grandsons, Damon (Shelby) Longstreet, Brandon Longstreet, Riley Longstreet, Treyson Longstreet, and Jaren Longstreet; great-granddaughter, Sawyer Honee Longstreet; two brothers, Bill (Carol) Hagedorn of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and Steve Hagedorn of Pipestone, Minnesota; step-grandchildren, Makayla, Kaytee, Charlee and Braelyn;  many cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Delores Hagedorn; her parents-in-law, Vernon and Marcella Longstreet; and a nephew, BJ Longstreet.
