Isabelita Vidal Daluz

Isabelita Vidal Daluz was born on May 23, 1953 in Dasol, Pangasinan, Philippines to Jeremias and Virginia (Alejos) Vidal.  During her childhood, Isabelita moved between Palawan and Pangasinan. She attended Amalbalan Elementary School in Pangasinan through second grade from 1960 to 1962 and later attended San Pedro Elementary School in Palawan through sixth grade from 1962 until her graduation from elementary school in 1967.

Isabelita met the love of her life, Edgardo Daluz, in Olongapo City, Zambales, Philippines in 1970 where she worked as a cashier and he worked as a cook at the same restaurant. They were married shortly thereafter in 1971.

Isabelita and Edgardo welcomed their first child, Edelita, in 1972. Their second child, Erwin, was born in 1975. Daisy, their third child, was born in 1978. Their fourth child, Lizel, arrived in 1980. Finally, their fifth child, Mary Rose Dianne, surprised the family by showing up in 1988.

While building her family, Isabelita began selling rice cakes and arrozcaldo, a Filipino chicken and rice porridge, as a street vendor. She and her husband Edgardo was able to save enough money from selling her food to purchase "Edelita Arrozcaldo House" her own restaurant in 1978. While the restaurant business thrived, Isabelita decided to go back to secondary school to finish her education in 1981.

She graduated from Palawan National School in 1985. She then attended Holy Trinity University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts in 1989. After completing university, Isabelita was hired as an instructress at Palawan Polytechnic College where she taught Filipino Language to secondary and college students from 1991 to 2006 while also maintaining her restaurant business.

Sadly, in July of 1996, Isabelita’s husband, Edgardo, was involved in a vehicular accident that resulted in his death. Isabelita was devastated by this loss, but she persevered for the sake of her children.

In February of 2007, Isabelita immigrated to The United States of America. She lived in Lake Benton, MN from that moment on where she worked as a healthcare aid at Central Minnesota Senior Care until her retirement in 2021. She was able to travel back to the Philippines multiple times to visit her family, and she was proud to be a dual citizen.

While living in Minnesota, Isabelita was a member of United Methodist Women. She cherished her time with family on both sides of the Pacific Ocean, and she always worked hard to provide the best possible education for each of her children.

Isabelita will be lovingly remembered by her children, Edelita Hudson (Steve) of Lake Benton, MN; Erwin Daluz (Elsa) of Palawan, Philippines; Daisy Daluz-Cordova of Palawan, Philippines; Lizel Farinas (Serafin) of Palawan, Philippines; Mary Rose Dianne Hurd (Steven) of Lake Benton, MN along with many loving grandchildren Garret Hudson (Samridhi Kumari), Sharon Hudson, Tristan Hudson, Louiea Daluz, Euwinoah Daluz, Erwin Daluz Jr., Daniel Austria, Allysa Daluz, Elsa Erwina Daluz , Erwin Daluz III, Yesha Cordova, Alessandra Cordova, Samantha Cordova, Carolina Ysabelle Farinas, Annalita Hurd, Edric Hurd and her siblings Rosendo Vidal and Jemuel (Christine) Vidal.

Isabelita was preceded in death by her husband, Edgardo, daughter, Angelita, brother, William Vidal; and son-in-law, Alen Cordova.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Lake Benton Food Shelf or the Lake Benton United Methodist Church. May her memory be a blessing.
