JEANETTE VOGT was born on December 10, 1921, to Dirk and Wilhelmina (Van Roekel) Fransen in Melvin, Iowa. She was baptized in Rushmore, Minnesota. Jeanette and her family lived in Sheldon, Iowa until 1935. They relocated to Sibley, Iowa where Jeanette graduated in 1939. She was united in marriage to John Vogt in Spencer, Iowa on September 14, 1940. The couple made their first homes in Little Rock and Rock Rapids, Iowa and later Adrian, Minnesota. In 1948, they moved to Holland, Minnesota. During WWII, Jeanette began her working career by helping families in need. She left the workforce to raise her family, but returned after they began high school serving as a waitress and cook for Ann’s Cafe in Holland, Minnesota. In 1975, the family relocated to Ruthton, Minnesota and Jeanette joined the staff at the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone, Minnesota where she would continue to work until her retirement in 1997. They returned to Holland in August of 2000. John preceded Jeanette in death in 2005. Jeanette moved to Storybrook Apartments in Pipestone in 2008, and resided there until December of 2014, when she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Communities of Pipestone. On Tuesday, January 26, 2021, Jeanette died at the age of 99 years, one month, and 16 days.

Jeanette was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Holland. She was active with the Holland Senior Citizen Center and the Birthday Club. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, doing puzzles, and playing cards. Jeanette leaves a legacy of hard work and fantastic smiles. She lived her life with love and laughter, but was a strong woman and could be tough when needed. She was very devoted to her family and always made time for them. Jeanette was a wonderful grandmother who knew how to make family time a fun time. She will hold a special place in the hearts of many.

Jeanette is remembered by her children, Henry (Sylvia) of Ruthton, John (Bev) of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Pam (Craig) Haraldson of Pipestone, and Curt (Joey) of Marshall; 11 grandchildren, Melony, Sandy, Terry, Mike, Kristine, Sherri, Bobby, Bradley, Shana, Brandon, and Shannon; 19 great-grandchildren, Danika, Keaton, Jesse, Ashley, Jordyn, Kole, Shane, Nolan, Ethan, Brianna, Colin, Stella, Viviana, Ella, Vince, Carson, James, Aria, and Jaxson; nine great-great-grandchildren with one on the way; siblings-in-law, Lucille Fransen of Sibley and Harold (Lavonne) Vogt of Luverne; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; children, Raymond and Wilmina; granddaughter, Michelle; great-grandson, Dylan; sisters, Nancy, Liz, Minnie, Johanna, Alice, Dora, Henrietta, and one infant sister; and brothers, Garret, Abe, Henry, William, George, and John.
