John Robert Arens, age 74 of Lake Benton, Minnesota was born in St. Paul, MN and raised in Tyler, Minnesota. Growing up he was active in 4H and farming. Later in life, John enjoyed spending time riding his Harley. He could take apart, rebuild, and shine any motorcycle he could get his hands on. John greatly enjoyed the thrill of motorsports. He gravitated to Nascar as well as smaller track racing. In years past John could be found driving in demolition derbies for fun. Harley Davidson motorcycles were what made John tick. He rarely missed a chance to go to a Harley Davidson event, Sturgis and Altoona were his favorites.
John died unexpectedly at his home where he was found Wednesday, July 31, 2024. John will be remember for his integrity and honesty. He had a perpetual, authentic smile and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He is preceded in Death by his mother, Evelyn Arens; father, Lawerence Arens and brother, Dale Arens. John is lovingly remembered by his 3 children, Jeremiah (Jamie) Arens of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Joseph Arens, and Jewel (Mike) Schneider of New Richmond, Wisconsin; brother, Marc Arens of Minneapolis, Minnesota; 9 grandchildren, Brady Arens, Alexus Laleman, Adrianna Arens, Natalie Laleman, Josephine Arens, Brockston Arens, Melanie Schneider, Alexander Arens, and Nolan Schneider; Nephew Troy Arens and Niece Bobbi Jo Ratajczak.
A Small family graveside gathering will take place Aug. 8th 2024 at St Dionysius cemetery in Tyler, MN.
