Judith Jane Williamson was born on November 29, 1939, to Chester and Laura (Ballentine) Disch in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a young girl, she lived in Mountain Iron and Virginia, Minnesota, as well as Minneapolis. At the age of seven, Judy contracted encephalitis due to exposure to measles. The doctor advised her parents to pray if they were people of faith. Fortunately, Judy survived, and while her mother read to her from a Bible storybook, she accepted Christ as her Savior.
Judy attended Minnehaha Academy, graduating in 1957. She began working as a nurse's aide at St. Barnabas Hospital in 1956 and later pursued training to become an X-ray technician. At 15, Judy met Brian Williamson at church, and they started dating. After Brian completed his service in the Navy, they got married on November 7, 1958, at Aldrich Avenue Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis.
In January 1964, Judy, Brian, and their son Todd moved to Tyler, Minnesota, where Brian started his chiropractic practice. Judy began working at A.L. Vadheim Memorial Hospital and ultimately retired after 45 years of dedicated service.
Judy served as the church pianist and taught Sunday School for many years at First Baptist Church in Tyler and First Baptist of Lake Benton. She loved Tyler, her neighbors, and small-town living. She enjoyed being part of Kiwanis, Aebelskiver Days, and promoting the community.
In July 2024, after a fall, Judy's doctor informed her that she could no longer live at home. She entered Sunrise Manor, and her family is grateful for the compassionate care she received there. After selling her home of 61 years, Judy moved to Suite Living in Forest Lake to be closer to her family. The staff at Suite Living welcomed Judy and made her feel at home. Although it was an adjustment not to see familiar faces, she enjoyed her new environment, the activities, and spending time with her family. Unfortunately, her health challenges, including Alzheimer's, dementia, and osteoporosis, worsened. After another fall, she experienced a rapid decline and passed away on April 24, 2025.
Judy is survived by her son, Todd from Virginia, Minnesota; her daughter Lisa (Paul) Michalski from Silver Bay, Minnesota; and her grandchildren, Mark (and Anna), Maria (and Jake), Jonathan (and Alannah), and Katherine (and Tyler), along with her great-grandchildren, Finley, Mia, Holden, JP, Lynnea, Liam, Malachi, Gus, Lucie, and Karis; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Blair and Diane Williamson of Waxhaw, North Carolina; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Brian; her parents, Chester and Laura Disch; her brother, James Disch; and sister, Diane Disch.
