Kelly Hartson

KELLY MARK HARTSON was born in Tyler, Minnesota to Donald and Rosmary (Reese) Hartson on October 3, 1956. He spent his childhood in Ruthton, Minnesota and attended Ruthton school through the 10th grade. He joined the National Guard where he served for a number of years before enlisting with the United States Navy. After four years of service he was honorably discharged. At that time, he worked for a while in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and then moved to Moorhead, Minnesota where he was doctoring for his disabilities with the VA Hospital. A few months ago, he was diagnosed with cancer and has been receiving treatment in Fargo, North Dakota. On Memorial Day weekend, 2020, he moved to Tyler to be closer to relatives and then in to Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Tyler. He died there on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at the age of 63 years, eight months, and seven days.

Kelly was baptized on March 10, 1957 at Russell Lutheran Church in Russell, Minnesota. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on May 14, 1972 at Peace Lutheran Church in Ruthton.
Kelly is lovingly remembered by his mother, Rosmary Hartson of Balaton, Minnesota; five siblings, Virginia (Randy) Schulte of Tyler, Minnesota, Amber Hartson of Russell, Minnesota, Rose (Dan) Roberts of Oakdale, Minnesota, Rodney (Clara) Hartson of Ruthton, and Ricky Hartson of Revere, Minnesota; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lester and Nona Hartson, and John and Ethel Reese; his father, Donald Hartson; one brother, LeRoy; and an infant sister, Darles.
