Kenny Brockberg

KENNETH PAUL BROCKBERG was born on August 31, 1943 to Walter and Paula (Stueven) Brockberg in Pipestone, Minnesota. He was baptized on October 7, 1943. As a young child, he moved to Faribault, Minnesota. At the age of 18, he moved to a group home in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. In 1989, he moved to the REM Home in Marshall, Minnesota where he resided to this day. After a fall, he was admitted to the Sanford USD Medical Center and Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he underwent hip repair surgery. A short time later he entered the care of Ava's House Hospice in Sioux Falls where he passed away peacefully on Friday, July 15, 2022 at the age of 78 years.

Kenny loved trucks, smoking his pipe, and collecting keys and watches. He also enjoyed looking through photos and the memories they brought back. Although staff at the REM Home were his family and he loved them, his favorite place was the family farm. He could often be found tinkering or taking apart mechanical things.

Kenny is lovingly remembered by his brother, Wayne Brockberg of Pipestone; seven nieces and nephews, Lisa Gabaldon of Las Vegas, Nevada, Scott (Mary) Brockberg of Rogers, Minnesota, David (Mary) Brockberg of Pipestone, Darla (Brian) Barber of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Jodi Brockberg of Pipestone, Sarah Schnell of Sioux Falls; and Steven Brockberg of Plainview, Nebraska; numerous cousins and family members; and special caregiver, Stacy Gackstetter. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marlene Brockberg; brother, Richard Brockberg and his wife, Mary Lou; and sister-in-law, Lynn Brockberg.
