Lance Price

Lance William Price was born on August 26, 1974 to Lynda (Vos) Price and Dennis Price in Pipestone, Minnesota. Lance grew up in Pipestone, attending Pipestone Middle School and High School, attaining his diploma in 1993. Lance was confirmed in October of 1974 at the First Presbyterian Church in Pipestone. Throughout his high school years, he loved fishing with his friend from Ihlen – always hoping to get that next big bite. After high school, Lance continued his education at Mankato State University, where he graduated with a Computer Software Engineer degree in 2002. In his early adulthood he put his degree to good use and he worked at a few different employer’s, including the Waseca Publishing Co. in Waseca, Minnesota; MN West in Granite Falls, Minnesota and Eagle Creek Software Services in Vermillion, South Dakota.

During Lance’s adulthood, he could be found outdoors fishing and hunting or spending time with his friends. He had a captivating and winning smile that would light up any room he walked into. He will be affectionately remembered for his absolute love for dogs. Lance loved to volunteer at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society. Throughout his life, Lance had spent 15 years off and on at the Shriner’s Hospital for numerous surgeries on his hips and knees. Although his body was in constant pain, his compassion and love for his family, friends and his beloved dog, Izzy never dulled. Lance died unexpectedly at his home in Pipestone on February 5, 2024 at the age of 49 years, 5 months and 10 days.

Lance is lovingly remembered by his mother, Lynda (Paul) Steen of Pipestone, Minnesota; his nephew, Cole Vos; and his loving dog, Izzy. He is preceded in death by his sister, Suzanne; his father, Dennis Price; and his maternal and paternal grandparents, Ed and Jacoba Vos, Myron and Elaine Price.

Blessed be Lance’s memory. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
