Linda Elaine Marr was born on September 8, 1947 to John and Gladys (Robey) Grotjohn in Adrian, Minnesota. Linda grew up on a farm north of Worthington, Minnesota. When she was young, she loved to play with her dolls in her treehouse. She graduated from Worthington High School in 1965. On January 14, 1967, Linda was united in marriage to Dallas Marr at Zion Lutheran Church in Adrian. They settled on the family farm near Magnolia in 1967. Linda furthered her education at Worthington Community College and graduated in 1988 with an Associate Degree of Arts in Humanities. She worked at Community Care in Luverne, Minnesota for more than 20 years as a caregiver for disabled individuals. Dallas preceded her in death in 2020. Linda remained on the farm through 2025 at which time she stayed at Maranatha Care Center in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. On Wednesday, March 18, 2026, Linda died at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minnesota at the age of 78 years, 6 months, and 10 days.
Linda was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Adrian, which is now closed. In her spare time, she loved embroidering and created multiple items including baby blankets, dish towels, and pillowcases for family and friends. Linda continued embroidering during her time at Maranatha. She was an avid reader and loved sitting in her chair reading with her beloved cat Archie. Linda was a religious and caring individual who cherished family and friends. She loved to collect teddy bears and giving them to other people. If you came to visit her, you would probably leave with food, a teddy bear, or an embroidered item, or maybe all three.
Linda is survived by her two daughters, Janeen (Colin) Fettig of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and Lisa (Mark) Marr-Lyon of White Rock, New Mexico; four grandchildren, Nick and Hannah Fettig, and Leah and Josie Marr-Lyon; and sister-in-law, Patricia Grotjohn of Stewartville, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Marr; parents, John and Gladys Grotjohn; brothers, Lyle (Lois) Grotjohn, and Lewis Grotjohn; and sister, Lucille (Robert) Hartz.
