Lori Enger

Lori Ann Enger was born on May 7, 1960, to Gene and Carol Scheerhorn in Pipestone, Minnesota. During her early years, Lori’s family moved several times in Minnesota and Montana. She graduated in 1978 from Hills-Beaver Creek High School in Hills, Minnesota. On February 12, 1999, Lori was united in marriage to the love of her life, Jeff Enger, in Luverne, Minnesota. Together the couple settled down in Jasper, Minnesota where they spent the next 26 years raising their family and making memories.

While her children were growing up, Lori spent endless hours attending their sporting events and school activities. She was one of their biggest supporters on every journey throughout their lives. Her and her family loved to spend time together camping - many memorable weekends were spent at their summer home, Stoney Point on Lake Benton, with friends and family. One of Lori’s many talents in life was her ability to connect with others. Her quiet, sweet personality allowed her to observe and take in the world around her. She was an incredible listener, offering wisdom to others when asked. She was empathetic to others and accepted people as they were - she was a loyal friend to all who knew her. Above all else, Lori adored spending time with her grandkids and her family, they were the center of her world. Lori could always be found with a book or Kindle in her hands, wandering off into a good story. Throughout her life, Lori was faced with many challenges and struggles, and for each and every one, she showed unwavering strength and determination. Lori passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 65 years, two months and 16 days. Her absence will be felt deeply by those who had the privilege to know and love her.

Lori is survived by her husband of 26 years, Jeff Enger of Pipestone, Minnesota; her sons, Austin (Jill) Cragoe of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Anthony (Jenny) Nath of Willmar, Minnesota and Matthew (Laura Rudie) Enger of Pipestone; grandchildren, Jersie Cragoe, Harper Cragoe, Sydney Cragoe, Paisley Nath and Brayden Nath; and siblings, Julie Berkland of Brandon, South Dakota, Randy (Judy) Scheerhorn of St. Cloud, Minnesota, Doug (Sheri) Scheerhorn of Beaver Creek, Minnesota, and Patti (Steve) Vugteveen of Valley Springs, South Dakota. Lori was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Nath; parents, Gene and Carol Scheerhorn; and nephew, Cody Enger.
