Lucille "Lucy" Boll was born on October 26, 1935 to Howard and Alice (Simmons) May in Lost Corner, Arkansas. Later she moved with her family to North Little Rock, Arkansas where she attended school, graduating from North Little Rock High School in 1952. She then attended Drones Business School for one year. Upon completion of her education, she worked for Southern National Insurance Company and also Arkansas Frozen Foods. On August 9, 1958, she was united in marriage to Marvin Boll in North Little Rock. Following their marriage, they lived on Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, South Dakota while he served in the United States Air Force. After he was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1959, they moved to Elkton, South Dakota to farm. In 1968, they moved to Ward, South Dakota and farmed there until their retirement in 2006 when they moved into Lake Benton, Minnesota. On August, 2022, Ina became a resident at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Tyler, Minnesota. She died there on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at the age of 88 years.
Lucy attended services at First Baptist Church in Lake Benton. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 14. She enjoyed attending Bible Studies. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Marvin Boll of Lake Benton, Minnesota; three children, Edward (Fern) Boll of Ward, South Dakota, Judy (Richard) Ellis of Verdi, Minnesota and Douglas Boll of Ward; two siblings, June Harness of New Port Richey, Florida and Earl (Chom) May of North Little Rock; six grandchildren, Jason, Joshua, Jared, Joanna (Peter Engels), Josiah and Austin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Alice May; two sisters, Syble Kaplon and Emma Roberts; brother, Raymond Grimes; and brothers-in-law, Valentine Kaplon, Clytee Harness and Curly Roberts.
