Lucille M. (Gosse) Wallerich was born on December 15, 1937 to Anthony and Lydia (Averbeck) Gosse in Wabasha, Minnesota where she was raised on the family farm. She attended school in the country school (only girl) for three years and then to St. Felix School in Wabasha, graduating in 1955. She was a member of the "Don Gosse" Polka Band, employed at Arntson Drug Store, Idle Hour Café and after graduation was a receptionist at St. Elizabeth Hospital. On November 9, 1957, Lucy was united in marriage to Charles "Chuck" Wallerich at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha. The couple made their home in Wabasha from 1957 to 1969. They then moved to Pipestone, Minnesota where she became employed at Ed Forman's Tax Service. Lucy was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church in Pipestone where she held several offices in PCCW. She volunteered at Good Samaritan Society for 20 plus years in hair care and also volunteered at St. Leo Church office. She loved dancing, bowling, gardening and taking care of her homes. Chuck preceded her in death on November 6, 2023. On Monday, January 5, 2026, Lucy died at the Pipestone County Hospice House at the age of 88 years and 21 days.
Lucy is lovingly remembered by her four children, Barb (Kevin) Paulsen of Pipestone, David (Judy) Wallerich of Alexandria, Minnesota, Dan (Kay) Wallerich of Hamilton, Montana and Nancee (Chad) Tower of Shawnee, Kansas; nine grandchildren, Jessica (Brad) Smidt, Kelly (Shane) Beyers, Matthew (Whitney) Paulsen, Sarah (Dan) Hornseth, Angela Wallerich, Kayla (T.J.) Davis, Brayden Tower (Lily Reynolds), Amanda Tower and Addison Tower; 13 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Harper and Hadlee Smidt, Ryker and Brooks Beyers, Myer and Blaire Paulsen, Layla, Hudson and Jovie Hornseth, Jeremiah Wallerich and Cora and Thea Davis; one brother, Don Gosse of Wabasha; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck; her parents; her sisters, Marie Marx and Bunnie Suilman; brothers-in-law, Vince Suilman and Walter Marx; and sister-in-law, Betty Gosse.
