Marie Jeanette Zeinstra was born on March 10, 1938 to Gerrit and Stena (Bolt) VanBockel at the Ashton Memorial Hospital in Pipestone. She was baptized and made her Profession of Faith in the Holland Christian Reformed Church. She attended country school in Holland and Chandler, Holland Christian School, continuing her education she attended Ruthton High School and Southwest Christian High School. Marie had a life-long love for music, starting lessons at a young age. Playing Organ and Piano was a gift she shared with her church until October of 2021. With her love of community and relationships she was active through Bowling, Red Hat Society, Good Samaritan Board, Bible School, Holland American Legion Auxiliary, Holland Senior Center, and nurtured her Faith in multiple church circles and Bible Studies. Her Faith was her foundation in life. Being a humble servant, she set an example of genuine and selfless love where everyone she met was made to feel loved like family.
On November 15, 1955, Marie married the love of her life Bernard Zeinstra and together they had 6 children. Beginning their lives together, they moved to several acreages in the Holland area. In 1961 they purchased a farm near Holland where they continued to expand their farming operation. Marie was actively involved in the Dairy and the home. With this her home was a place for all to gather, where there was always food and laughter. Together they created many fond memories with neighbors and friends snowmobiling and traveling. In 1984 they built the home where she remained until she passed away peacefully at the age of 83 years, 10 months, and 16 days, surrounded by her family.
Nothing brought more joy to her life than family. Marie was blessed with 15 grandchildren and their spouses and 26 great grandchildren. The blessing is felt by them. The family will cherish the memories of the Zeinstra Family Vacation, which began in 2003, at Lake Minnewaska. Each one feeling they were blessed by Grandma Z.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; her son, Monte; an infant son; one great grandson, Wilson Arp; her parents Gerrit and Stena; her brother Rolland VanBockel; and her son-in-law Verlyn Kooi.
