Marvin Reamt Heidebrink was born on May 11, 1928, to Garret and Edith (Ackerman) Heidebrink at Rushmore Hospital in Rushmore, Minnesota. He was baptized April 1, 1935, in Rushmore and received his education at various country schools. He did custom baling with his brother, Mitch, and worked for farmers in the area. On September 18, 1949, Marvin was united in marriage to Caroline Erks at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland, Minnesota. He was confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church in Holland, Minnesota on December 16, 1949. Marv and Caroline farmed near Currie, Minnesota, until 1953 when they moved to a farm north of Woodstock, Minnesota. They were blessed with four children, Rollie, Chris, Monte, and Doug. They milked cows and farmed until 1984 when they retired and moved to Holland. They continued to enjoy living in their home in Holland until March of 2022 when the two moved to Heritage Pointe Senior Living in Marshall, Minnesota. Marvin passed away there on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the age of 97.
Marv was a loving husband and even after 74 years of marriage still held Caroline’s hand walking down the street. They were role models for their family. He was a wonderful father who always supported his children’s school and sporting events. He taught us life lessons that will live on through our family. He was dearly loved by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marv was a helpful neighbor and a friend to many.
Marv was an active man who enjoyed many sporting activities including softball and bowling. He found his niche at age 50 when he picked up a golf club and began golfing. He participated in golf leagues in Pipestone and Tyler where he and Caroline were long time members. During his golfing years he won 4 major tournaments and chalked up Eagles and Birdies along the way.
Marv is survived by his children, Rollie (LuAnn) Heidebrink of Dell Rapids, South Dakota, Chris (Mike) Turok of Sycamore, Illinois, Monte (Shelley) Heidebrink of Mapleton, Minnesota, and Doug (Doretta) Heidebrink of LeMars, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, Erica (Jason) Fersdahl, Mandi (fiance Shane Tassoul) Wilke, Comeec (Jared) Hunter, Reagan (Jack) West, Jennifer (Craig) Brannstrom, Jon (Angela) Heidebrink, Maddisan Heidebrink, Bailey (Bill) Weets, Jordan (Colton) Clark, and Madison (Jarod) Steffes; 22 great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Arleen Heidebrink of Pipestone, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.
