Mildred "Millie" Estelle Steece was born on November 20, 1931, to Earnest and Myrtle (Lehman) Kleine in Magnolia, Minnesota. On April 2, 1944, she was baptized at Magnolia Methodist Church. She was raised in Magnolia, where she attended Magnolia School and graduated with the Class of 1949.
On March 17, 1981, Millie married John Steece in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they shared many happy years of marriage until John’s passing. During their professional careers, they owned and operated Supreme Handicrafts in the Western Mall for many years.
On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, Millie passed away at the Mary Jane Brown Nursing Home in Luverne at the age of 94 years, eight months and two days.
Millie is survived by her children, Steven (Cindy) Reck of St. Matthews, South Carolina, Michael (Marvene) Reck of Worthington, Minnesota, Caren Vaske of Worthington, Minnesota and Kim Wright of Baltimore, Maryland; step-son, Patrick (Kathleen) Steece of Platte City, Missouri; two brothers, Dallas Kleine of Bullhead City, Arizona, and Thomas Kleine of Summerville, South Carolina; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Steece; parents, Earnest and Myrtle Kleine; ten sisters and four brothers.
