Norma Jean Parker

Norma Jean Parker was born January 25, 1975 to Elvin Williams and Ouckevious (Sanders) Dickerson in Chicago, Illinois. Norma attended Garden Homes Elementary school. She spent her early childhood with her Aunt Leola and going to church. In the summer of 1986, Norma was baptized at Holy Temple First Born Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attended North Division High School and then studied to be a medical assistant. Norma spent her childhood and most of her adult life in Milwaukee. She worked various jobs in food service at Kentucky Fried Chicken, Wongs Wok, and as a cafeteria lady. In 2014, she changed careers and worked as a Direct Support Professional which she did until 2022. On December 29, 2017, Norma was united in marriage to Boyce Parker, Sr.  in Luverne, Minnesota. On Thursday, April 18, 2024, whilst surrounded by family, Norma peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior.

Norma contributed to her community through her work as a Direct Support Professional. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching movies and listening to music, going to concerts and shows, and spending time with her grandchildren. Things that brought her great joy were seeing her daughter graduate from high school and the birth of her grandchildren. Norma will be remembered for her good cooking, always speaking her mind, and her love for her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Norma is survived by her husband, Boyce Parker, Sr. from Luverne; children, LaShay Dickerson of Luverne, and Kevin Dickerson, Sr. of Luverne; siblings, James Dickerson of Milwaukee, Shawnder (Raymond) Davis of Milwaukee, Surina (Joe) Lewis of Danville, Illinois, and Nikki Williams of Atlanta, Georgia; mother, Ouckevious Dickerson of Milwaukee; and six grandchildren, Kevin Dickerson, Jr., Xaimora Chatman, Xavien Dickerson, Xanavia Dickerson, Kairo Dickerson, and Xaidaan Dickerson; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John Sanders, Earl Sanders, Ricky Sanders, Alvin Dickerson, Sr., Kevin Dickerson, Cleon Dickerson, and Clarence Dickerson; sister, Xylina Williams; father, Alvin Williams; grandmother, Maggie Bradley; and granddaughter, Londynn Dickerson.
