Perry Lee Stickling was born on October 1, 1961 in Luverne, Minnesota to Herman and Evelyn (Leuthold) Stickling. Growing up, Perry enjoyed farm life and playing in the dirt. He graduated from Ellsworth High School in Ellsworth, Minnesota in 1980. He then attended Pipestone Vocational Technical School for Auto Mechanics. On September 22, 1984, Perry was united in marriage to Brenda Kurtz at Bethany Lutheran Church in Luverne. Perry worked as a farm hand in Kanaranzi, Minnesota before moving to Luverne where he worked at Jim’s Auto, Herman Motors, and later Nelson’s Auto. They moved onto the Stickling family farm for a period of time before moving back to Luverne. He continued his employment at Align Tech & Tire, Riggs Trucking, and finally at Nutrien in warehouse operations. On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, Perry passed away in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 64 years, 6 months, and 7 days.
Perry was a member of the United Methodist Church in Luverne. Perry assisted for several years delivering the Eagle’s annual Thanksgiving dinners. In his spare time, he enjoyed hanging out at the shop, side-by-side trips, and outdoor grilling while camping. His greatest joy came from spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Perry is lovingly survived by his wife, Brenda Stickling of Luverne; children, Miranda Stickling of Luverne, and Jermey (Stacy) Stickling of Sioux Falls; grandchildren, Alexis and Dallas Hultgren and Lily Wollenberg; siblings, Harold (Marilyn) Stickling of Carlock, Illinois, Dale (Diane) Stickling of Bloomington, Illinois, and Kristie (Ron) Klingenberg of Humboldt, South Dakota; many nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews; loved as a granddaughter, Lucy Smith; and his special camping crew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Evelyn Stickling; two brothers, Gary Stickling and Kenneth Stickling; great-nephew, Witt Klingenberg; in-laws, Bernard and Marlene Kurtz; sisters-in-law, Tami Kurtz and Paula Kurtz; and nephew, Drendon Stickling.
