Randy Hudson

Randy Lee Hudson was born July 10, 1952 to Richard and Lois (Pommier) Hudson in Slayton, Minnesota. Randy enjoyed a fun-filled childhood, spending time with neighborhood friends on many adventures around the Lake Shetek area. He also helped on the farm with animal care and field work for family and neighbors. Randy graduated from Tracy High School in Tracy, Minnesota in 1970. On September 2, 1970, Randy was united in marriage to Robin Blanchette at St. John's Cathedral in St. Paul, Minnesota. Randy worked in construction and as a block worker. When they lived in Slayton from 1971 to 1974, he was the yard foreman at Lampert Lumber and an insurance representative. From 1974 to 2007 they lived in Pipestone, Minnesota and Randy continued in the insurance business, as well as working at Bayliner, driving over-the-road truck, and owning a construction and floor covering business. In 2007, they moved to Luverne, Minnesota where he became the owner of Ceramic Tile Creations and after retiring drove truck until his second retirement Oct. 2025. Randy was a warrior in this journey, he never lost his sense of humor and was spitting out one liner's whenever he could. He passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the age of 73.

Randy served his community as a volunteer fireman. He was a member of the Public Advocate of the United States organization (2010 to present). He was involved with Fishing Has No Boundaries, so each year he would borrow out his boat and equipment and volunteer his time and gas to help physically and mentally disabled people enjoy a weekend outdoors on the water. Randy was always willing to help others, whether in need or just because he wanted to. His interests included motorcycle travel (his favorite), fishing, golfing, and natural health care. He was a perfectionist at his work no matter what he was doing. He was known to be honest (sometimes to a fault), blunt and to the point, and enjoyed giving others a hard time. More than anything, he enjoyed family holidays and the fishing and motorcycle trips with Robin.

Left to honor his memory are his wife of 55 years, Robin of Luverne; children, Jennifer (Terry) Tucek of Howard, South Dakota, and Sherry (Brad) Ilse of Pipestone, Minnesota; seven grandchildren, Ashley Hammer, Amber Hammer, Wayde (Kaylee) Tucek, Justin Tucek, Blaine Tucek, Dawson Ilse, and Jacey Ilse; six great-grandchildren, Cecelia and Elliot Jannsen, Theodore Choate, and Kenslee, Kamden and Layla Tucek; siblings, Gloria Bruns of Pipestone, MN; and sister-in-law, Wendy Hudson of Stillwater, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lois Hudson; brother, Gary Hudson; sister, Cindy Connelly; maternal grandparents, John and Myrtle Pommier; paternal grandparents, Pearl and Jose Hudson; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Per Randy's wishes, no services will be held. Sharing of friendships and memories will be held at a later date. Randy will be brought by Robin and his Harley motorcycle to Calvary Cemetery - Currie, Minnesota, to be buried.
