Rebecca Sue Kirby was born to Francis and Ramona (Thorson) Kirby on July 7,1952 in Pipestone, MN. She lived with her family on a farm east of Hardwick, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Blue Mound Lutheran Church, Luverne, MN. She attended school through the eighth grade at Hardwick Grade School and then attended four years at Luverne High School, Luverne, MN graduating in 1970. She waitressed at the Green Lantern Café when she was in high school where she enjoyed working with her friends. After graduating from high school, she attended a vocational school in Mankato, MN where she met Larry Schneider and later, they moved to the Minneapolis area where they worked and later got married. After they divorced, she got a job in Eau Claire, WI with a radio station selling advertising. There is where she met Reed Macknick and they later married. The couple made their home in Chippewa Falls, WI. Becky and Reed started a courier business and up until they divorced, they ran that business. Becky injured herself and went on disability. She continued to live in Chippewa Falls until which time she moved back to Eau Claire, WI. She had no children. On Sunday, February 5, 2023 Becky went to be with her Lord at the age of 70 years, 6 months, and 29 days
Becky will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Patricia (Wesley) Pierson of Hardwick, MN; niece, Lanette Schnepf of Sioux Falls, SD; grandniece, Allessandra Dunbar of Seattle, WA; grandnephew, Benjamin Dunbar of Seattle, WA; and her cat, Zelda. Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Ramona Kirby; stepmother, Ordeth Kirby; one sister, Donna Kirby; nieces, Suzanne Pierson and Michelle Pierson; nephew, Allen Pierson; and her cats and dog.
